In an interview with Screen Rant about The Black Phone, Jason Blum talked about Happy Death Day 3 and said, “I’m glad you did, because guess who I had lunch with yesterday? Mr. Christopher Landon. And guess what we discussed? Happy Death Day 3. We discussed it. I’m not saying we’re doing it, but we discussed it.

It was very much on the top of our minds. I’m not saying we’re doing it, but I’m not saying we’re not doing it.”

Happy Death Day was released in 2017 and the sequel, Happy Death Day 2U came out in 2019. The first film grossed $125,479,266 worldwide and the sequel grossed $64,600,152 worldwide. The sequel continues the questions surrounding the killer Babyface, who wears a black cloak and a plastic mask that looks like a baby, and Tree finds herself in another dimension. The sequel delves more into the conventions of time travel.
