For starters, players will need to choose a great starting word. But in order to choose a good one, players will need to be familiar with Wordle answer restrictions and some strategy.

Wordle answers are always five letters long, a real word, and not a proper noun. The New York Times censored a lot of Wordle words when it bought the game, so players will have to avoid those. While they can be used as guesses, answers won’t ever be a previous answer or a plural noun ending in S. Wordle now has an editor, so on most holidays, the Wordle answer can be themed. Good starting words will have five different common letters in them.

Type the chosen starting word into the Wordle grid, and then press enter. This will cause its letters to change colors.

Green letters are right. Gray letters are wrong. Yellow letters are correct but in the incorrect place in the word.

Players have six total tries to get to the answer of the day.
